Initial Inspection

 During a gas fire maintenance check, your designated gas technician will conduct a comprehensive examination of your fire’s overall state to evaluate its operational efficiency. Our examination will focus primarily on the fire and flues safety aspects and its controls.

Cleaning the fire

The fire is removed from the chimney opening (unless it is a balanced flue / flueless fire). The flue is then inspected both visually and with the use of smoke bombs to check for both draw and leaks, this also helps the engineer determine if there are any blockages within the chimney.  

The Chimney opening and the fire body are cleaned, seals inspected and the fire re-installed. The burner and oxy pilot are also cleaned and re installed. The fire is the checked for any gas leaks.  

Final checks

Once re-assembled, the gas pressures on the appliance are then checked to ensure safe and efficient burning of the fire.

The coals are then re-installed and sprayed to return them to their original colour so your fire looks like the day you bought it.   

Finally a spillage test is conducted to ensure no Carbon Monoxide is coming back into the building.
